Educational Research efforts!

My broad research focus is electromagnetic modeling and microwave measurements. Electromagnetic modeling efforts are involved with the analysis of reverberation chambers (also called mode stirred chambers) in the area of High intensity radiated fields (HIRF). I am using computational and experimental methods to examine the statistical characterization of fields in reverberation chambers.

My chief interests are fundamental variational principles and computational electromagnetics, statistical electromagnetics, electromagnetic characterization and application of reverberation chambers, and the analysis of optical and microwave structures using numerical methods including finite element techniques.

I am also interested in material characterization in the high frequency and microwave regime (500 MHz - 94 GHz). Also of interest is the interaction of biological systems and electromagnetic fields.

 RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES

I have more thesis opportunities than I have directly funded research assistant positions.  If you are interested in working on a topic with me I would be glad to serve as an advisor.

I have several research opportunities that are open to both undergraduate and graduate students...these opportunities are mostly unfunded but come with your ideas!

bulletComputational modeling of electromagnetic and optical systems using finite element methods, finite difference time domain, and integral equation based methods (moment methods).

bulletReverberation chamber (RC) applications and theory - Connected with the University Multispectral lab at Richmond Hill, this research opportunity is a unique OSU resource: the only university operated RC with student access in the US!

bulletGeneral opportunities in:
bullet

microwave measurements using a vector network analyzer

bullet

stripline structures

bullet

patch antennas
